It Takes a Village
to
Pay it Forward

Northshore Fire Protection District is the largest Fire District in Lake County and the 8th largest in the State.  It has its challenges with limited staffing and a complex and large landscape.   The District has a budget where the Annual Recurring Revenue has not increased with the trends and needs of the community.  This increases the maintenance on an aged fleet of vehicles, raises the safety risks of tools and gear  in use past their typical life-cycle, and escalates the stress that our firefighters have with not only responding to emergency situations, but with limited staff going non-stop some shifts from incident to incident.

The Northshore Firefighters work hard for us everyday... as an all risk agency they can go from rookie to veteran in a very quick time frame.  But often we become the training ground for good firefighters to come, develop their skills and move on to better paying positions.  What we need is to help build a department that not only can provide them all the experience they already get here, but is supported. by the community and funded in order to provide competitive wages, ensure the gear and equipment and vehicles meet safety and health standards and provide them the opportunities for development with more programs, technology and the time to up-skill their abilities.

The Northshore Fire Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was created to bridge the gap between the Northshore Fire Protection District and the communities it serves.  The Fire Fund will help to raise funding, awareness, and engagement for the resiliency of the Northshore.
